Cariboo products are developed, designed and manufactured in New Zealand to the highest standards using superior materials and processes that are kind to baby and the environment.
Cariboo uses the finest Radiata Pine grown in the South Island of New Zealand in a climate that produces high grade premium wood, and harvested from plantations that meet the Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) stringent environmental, social and economic standards. The MDF of our Contemporary range is developed to meet the exacting Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) for formaldehyde levels similar in wood. It also complies with the equally rigorous California Air Resources Board (CARB) limits on formaldehyde emissions. Our carefully selected fabrics include 100% cotton drill, certified organic combed cotton and New Zealand super fine Merino, and limit the use of any harmful substances.
Processes & Environmental Care
Our philosophy drives our practices and is instrumental in producing the best results: use locally grown and all natural where possible, and manufacture using the most energy efficient systems and procedures available. We also take every opportunity to optimize use of our materials and reduce waste. Products such as our nursing pads are made from the high quality excess created during manufacture of our woollen mattress topper
Finishing & Quality
All process and manufacturing is conducted at our Cariboo site. Each piece is hand-finished to an impeccable standard by our skilled and experienced craftsmen and subject to our own robust in-house quality control procedures. This ensures there are no sharp or rough edges, no loose threads, and every item is released with the confidence that it will bring you years of satisfaction.
Safety & Warranty
Each Cariboo product is independently tested nationally and internationally to ASTM, AS NZS and EN safety standards. We go above and beyond mandatory safety standards and always test to beyond even the voluntary standards. Cariboo warrants all our products to be free from any manufacturing faults for up to two years. This does not include general wear and tear and products must be used within the manufacturer’s guidelines.
